Learn to Code for Young Thinkers: Coding Basics in Swift

Everyone can code with Swift! In this interactive course, learners will use iPad or Mac to learn coding basics in Swift Playgrounds. They will apply their new skills to design their own app! Learners will begin with the foundations and vocabulary of coding in Swift. Through a series of live discussions, puzzles, and games in Swift Playgrounds and Tynker, learners will explore concepts of coding such as commands, sequences, debugging, and functions. Students will explore questions such as, “How can we write code to get our character to complete an obstacle course?” and “Why do loops make writing code easier?”. Learners will also investigate what makes a good app, and brainstorm ideas for their own app. REQUIRED: Mac or iPad with Apple’s Swift Playgrounds (free) installed.

Session 1 June 6-10 Monday – Friday 5:00PM Central

Session 2 July 18-22 Monday – Friday 5:00PM Central

Classes are 30 minutes each, price per session. One child per registration.

Refund and cancellation policy: We want all of our learners to remain happy and curious! Refunds are given if the class is cancelled by Flying Start, or if a learner cancels his/her reservation within 24 hours of booking the class.
